Anybody with interview experiance ?

My parents are attending their immigrant visa interview at chennai in the second week of July. They are being sponsored in the family category by my sister who is a US citizen.
I was wondering if there is anyone to share their or somebody whom they know's interview experiance.
I would like to know
what to expect in the interviews ?
how to prepare ?
what to look for and mistakes to avoid ?
any other tips.

Interview

My husband and I recently petitioned for my green card at the Dallas Service Center. As I was applying for the Dallas Pilot Program, we were interviewed after they looked at our paperwork. I'm sure other family visas differ in some ways from a visa through marriage, BUT what I DO have to say is: Read the instructions on the uscis.com website carefully. Many people overlook the assembling instructions. The immigration officer seemed quite impressed by the organization. It was not nearly as stressful as I thought it would be. Just answer their questions honestly, and don't offer extra or other information than what they ask (especially if there may be a problem). If you are required to bring any forms or paperwork, I suggest having copies, and have a file of extra documents to back up answers to some of your questions (example, for my visa I had to prove our marriage was valid, so we gave copies of our apartment leases -- proving we lived together, and our wedding pics). I don't know if all this helps you. I'm still waiting for my green card approval, apparently it will take longer than the initial 90 days promised. Oh, well. All the best to you -- Don't give up!

How many days passed since your interview? Did the officer tell you about the delay? Did he/she give any reason for it?

Need advice on parent's interview

Hi Taugusti -

How did your parents interview go? I hope it went well. My Mom's interview is at the end of this month and they received an 'initial interview' notice. Not sure if this is the actual interview or not. Were you allowed to be with them during the interview as the petitioner?
