Anybody with Interim EAD experience in Los Angeles?

Dear Friends,

My I-485 application (RD: 02/22/02) is still pending with VSC. I applied for renewal for my 3rd EAD via online (RD: 01/16/2004).

Soon, I will be past the 90 days from RD and hence, I plan to apply for Interim EAD at the los angeles local office.

Has anybody in this forum or your friends got the interim EAD from L.A. ? If so, please share your experience, docs needed, when to go, etc.

I would really appreciate all your invaluable inputs.

Unless you only want people with applications from VSC that had done an iEAD in LA, I would cross post to the CSC forum.

We got one for my spouse couple of weeks back. Its very time consuming, HUGE lines. We were there a total of 8-9 hours. Since 5 AM till 2 PM. Office opens at 6:00 Am. But there are people in Q since last night it seems.

We even got iEAD even before 90 days (took a chance) and address on GC application is not in the serving area of L.A. However, they never asked any questions about any of the infromation we have provided. Piece of cake but for the wait.

At the front counter, we're insisted to show I-140 approval notice or I-140 receipt. But we did not carry it with us and I said we will take a chance inside as its not one of the required suporting docs for iEAD. He let us go in. Inside, IIO never asked for I-140 details.

Documents handed over: EAD receipt, 485 receipt, I-756 application.

You can take appointment at L.A office using Infopass on internet. They have started it recently and was available when I went there, I was not aware of it. Else we might have saved lot of time.

Once you are inside, its very quick. May be an hour or atmost two.
