Anybody who entered US with just AP from Germany with out transit visa ?

My wife left to India in Feb with just her AP and EAD in hand. Her H4 was already expired. I am travelling to India end of this month and we plan to return together on July 5th from there via Germany on Lufthansa. There is this new requirement to obtain a transit visa for Germany as I do not have a valid H1 visa and APs according to a recorded message from German Consulate in Chicago is not a valid document. I can obtain my German visa before leaving but my wife is in India and have no idea regarding the visa process from the German Consulate in India and the processing times and procedures.

Going home after 3.5 yrs, just din\'t want to waste time running around consulates.

Also, if we get approved when we are in India, is it possible to get the passport stamped in India, ptrovided I have the original approval from the lawyer.

Any suggestions, please help and post your experiences.

Would this be a problem..

My EAD says "NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO US".

Please help, any advice...

EAD is not good enough for reentry....you need AP or a valid H1B visa....

About accepting AP as a valid visa in Germany during your transit, I am not sure.....If you have a German Consulate in India close to where you live, it\'s better to get it there......I don\'t think getting a transit visa would be a hassle...........
 
it is to the USA border control, not to any german authority!

... and I guess you meant AP \'cause you cannot re-enter on just EAD.
