Plan to go cruise. Have valid H1(not on passport, just H1 status), travel document, ead. Anybody would like to share your similar experience?

Thanks in advance.

dont try it...

have ur h1 stamped in pp and then go crusing!

Is there any reason for your observation ?

I thought AP pretty much authorizes any carrier to transport the AP holder into the US.

Why would a cruise be any different ?

Is this based on some experience or what ?

I believe the law says even if u have AP, u need to have atleast one H1
stamped in ur PP...

I doubt if they will allow anybody to enter just on AP if H1 is not
stamped.

...............this sounds absurd. You ahould be allowed back into the US with AP, H1 stamp in this case should not be material. what is ur basis for this info.?

I have no idea where you get these ideas from :D

They cannot insist that you atleast have an expired visa stamp -- I mean, who cares ?!?
After all visa stamp is purely for travel purposes -- if you don't travel, you never need one.

The wording on the AP clearly mentions that the carrier is authorized to bring the holder of the AP into the US - without having a visa.

GAROL: Did you try contacting the cruiseline operator directly and ask this question ?

I would be curious to read that "law". :) :p
where are you finding these ..so called.."laws"..from ??

In my knowledge, you can use AP only for the reason specified in the application. Usually the reason specified is to visit Home Country in emergency. I don't think it's a good idea to disregard such laws and go on a cruise.

I am NOT an attorney. So please don't consider this legal advise.

'fast_gc_seeker' and 'rajofmn' - What total FUD.

If you've got a valid AP in-hand then you can use it to go anywhere you want, by whatever form of transport you want, for whatever reason you want, and for as long as you want, provided you return before the AP expiry date. Furthermore, the vast majority of APs are multiple-entry ones, meaning that you can do this as often as you want too.

GAROL - Go and enjoy your cruise. You don't need any other supporting documents beyond a valid passport and the AP itself.

The whole point is to get a advance parole for traveling. And for this reason we are paying to the BCIS and finally they give us AP. I don't see any problem to visit with cruise unless otherwise BCIS mentioned in your AP for a particular country you can visit only.

All the best.

Thanks all for your reply.

I thank you so much for your reply. Since this is the grey area, I raised this question to my attorney and wait for his opinion.

I did called cruise line, and unfortunately after few transfer, I've been given a INS phone number to get correct answer :p

I will definitely post my experience here once I get a "GO" from my attorney.

Thanks again
