Anybody used the travel document that says ‘paroled’ even after the original expiration date?

I applied for AP in Jan2009 and got approved. In the original travel document the expiration date is Jan2010. I used it in July2009 and at the port of entry, at the 2nd verification point, the immigration officer stamped the travel document and it says ‘paroled until July 2010’. And also the immigration officer mentioned that I can use that copy of the travel document until July 2010.

Anybody used the travel document that says ‘paroled’ even after the original expiration date?

I've heard this for the first time. Specially the fact that an immigration officer told you so. But I would advise you not to travel on that AP. You are not going to meet the same officer again, are you?
The fact is that you cannot use an expired AP. The "Paroled Until" is just like an I-94 date.... allowing you to stay in the US until that date. But for those with pending 485 (adjustment of status), that date has no consequence as your stay in the US legal until a decision is made in your case.

In short:
If you need to travel, you'll have to apply for a new AP.
You cannot start your travel before your AP is approved, if you do, it'll invalidate your AP application.
You have to get back into the country before your AP expires.
An AP application can only be filed when someone is in the country.
All of the above applies to 485 applicants.

In other words, the immigration officer was wrong - under no circumstances can an expired AP document be used to reenter the US after the date printed on the original document. The I-94, as jack23 wrote, does not serve as an entry permit to the US.
