I got online status message like this:

"Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by the post office on June 20, 2003. To update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours."

Anybody knows what it means?

What kind of written notice could this be? an approval notice? or RFE?

We never changed address, our lawyer did about few months ago. Could this result in the "undeliverable" problem?

:(

Thanks for any input,

RD: Feb 09,2002

It can be an RFE

When did you check your message the last time before this message showed up?.

It is possible it might be an RFE. RFE goes to lawyers only I beleive.

Check it out with your lawyer. You migt want to change the address.

Can you specify your Rd and ND?

1)Written Notice could be an Approval :) or an RFE :( or a Denial :o Wait..Don't panic as your is NOT.

2)Call them right away and check if the address they have on the system is your right address and by calling you would know the type of notice they tried to send too...
>>> My bet going by what you are saying that you haven't changed address, while your lawyer had changed, means an RFE to me..!! as RFE's are generally sent to lawyer...JUST MY THOUGHT..

BTB what's ur ND/FP date?

Good Luck.

Its highly unlikely to be a denial. If you had checked in between the message changes, you would have known. Now the best thing to do is to get the lawyer's new address and call the Immigration official.
(S)He would be able to tell you what the written correspondence was for.

Thanks, buddies, for all the replies.

My ND: 02/14/02

I am a derivative applicant. My wife is the principle applicant. Her online status remains the " FP received, case processing resumed, etc..".

Could a derivative applicant got approval prior to the principle?

Thanks,

Just called NVC

Since Service center stopped taking phone inquiries, I called the NVC the first thing in the morning and an polite IIO answered my questions as follows.

He checked and said my address was the correct one in the system. He doesn't seem to be able to find my lawyers address in the system. He doesn't know what kind of written notice this could be.

Suggestions by him:

He is sending an inqury to VSC. He asks me to write up a letter explaining this to VSC as well.

So I still don't know what this written notice is.

But I will write the inquiry letter, hoping I will get a response soon.
:(
