Anybody know when they will advance the PD dates?

In looking back to around September of last year, the PD for Family 1A category has advanced 1 week, from 04/15/01 to 04/22/01.

That's a little ridiculous. Has anyone heard any rumours or had any updates on when there will be a significant jump in PD?

We should write Congress on this issue, or is there a place we can petition or do something to get more attention to this issue.

join the club. at least you can worry about the pd. others have to wait years for their petition to be approved. then they have to wait for the pd. and just hope that retrogerssion doesn't happen.

Same boat

I've recently taken a look at that issue. My parents are applying for citizenship in a month... yet doesn't seem that in the year it will take to for them earn their citizenship that the PD will be updated accordingly. My PD is 02/2002. And all this just when it seems that the District Offices of NYC are starting to process I485 and N400 a lot faster than they have in the past!! First I had to deal with aging out and starting everything all over again, and now looks like I'll be waiting another couple of years if not more before even filing my I485. Grrr.

Family immigration backlog

Hi, We must write to our Senators as much as we can. We must keep awareness to them about Retrogession. How all the Families getting affected by this Retrogession. We follow the correct way of getting Permanent Residents but in return we get punishment for waiting long long years.
This must be improved and the waiting period must go down.It really hearting all the families all over the world categories.

Here is the start of a letter, perhaps some of the more articulate could help complete it?

Dear Senator XXX:

I am writing this letter to respectfully ask your assistance in helping to solve the serious family crisis we are having with retrogression of priority dates for legal immigrants.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services department is currently retrogressing legal family based and employment permanent resident applications. From September 2005 to June 2006 priority dates have advanced from September 15, 2001 to September 22, 2001.

This impacts thousands of families who are depending on timely action by the USCIS to process their cases to reunite within the United States.

I appreciate your efforts so far in crafting a comprehensive immigration bill and am confident that you will help us further address this moral crisis.

Very Truly Yours
XXX
