Anybody doing AOS and got their GC?

Hi,
I am an F1 student doing AOS in Atlanta and my case # is 16XXX. I have gone through all the procedures including finger printing and had my interview in january 2005. At that time, my number was not current, but my number became current in february. I had to get my work permit from INS myself, since they hadn't mail it to me and it was 90 days later.
Is there anybody who got their GC yet? How long should I wait before I can go and ask about my case since my lawyer is just telling me to wait?
Thank you.

So, even though your number wasn't available, you still got an interview? I thought that in order to submit your paperwork you must wait for your number cutoff. Can you please clarify this for me?

Hi blue25...

blue25,
My lawyer apllied the very same day AOS applications were opened for DV 2005 winners. I know it sounds odd, since I found it quite odd when I read here people applying only when their numbers were available.
Somethings are differentitating I guess according to different cities or INS offices ormay be every lawyer has a different way of dealing witt stuff. The more I read the more I get confused reading what others are posting.
Do you know the time period to get your GC after getting your work permit?
Let me know if you have other questions.

AOS in the Bean

My experience in Boston:

Got the notice in the mail on August 10th when I got back from vacation, case number was EU11xxx.
Sent back the necessary papers a week later and told KCC that I was going with AOS after advising with my lawyer.
My wife and I both did the medical exams in September, had all the paperwork ready by Mid-October.
Filed november 1st, anticipating by 30 days the time when my number was going to become current.
We received the notice that the application had been accepted by CIS 8 days later, and on november 22 we received our interview date (February 14th) along with instructions for biometrics.
We had fingerprints and pictures taken on January 4th and got both our passports stamped at the end of the interview on february 14th.
We have received both permanent resident cards in the mail last wednesday (February 23rd).
My lawyer was key throughout the whole process, and I'm just glad the whole thing is over.

Good luck to y'all!!!

Peace.
