My local Washington DO office will be conducting its first N-400 over this weekend. I am sure some on this Board might have already gone through Weekend interviews, how are they different form the regular time interviews? Do IOs spend more time per applicant on the weekend?

Any insight at this front and what to be expected (if different) on a Off - Hours interview will be highly appreciated.

Koolvik7 - sorry to answer your question with a question: how do you know that your DO is conducting their first weekend interview this coming weekend? Did they announce something to that effect? Or is this just the first interview you're aware of?

I haven't noticed any of the NYC applicants getting interview dates on the weekend yet.

:) If you click on the DC tracker in my signature, you will find multiple interviews scheduled for this Saturday, May 10 in my DO. Moreover, here is an article in the Washington Post with more information on the Weekend Interviews: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/02/AR2008050203537.html (courtesy: Dev, a fellow N-400 applicant from DC).

Hope it helps.....

koolvik,
I dont see why it will be different. Just an extra day of processing per week to get things going faster. They should not change the format or content.

Sunday brunch

I am thinking that the DO's may be looking to start Sunday brunch for candidates interviewing between 11am and 2pm.

Well, not necessarily true. In NYC, while we haven't had any weekend interviews yet (that I'm aware of), we have information that the adjudicators that will be conducting interviews on weekends will have quite a large workload--up to 26 applications a day, plus bonuses for exceeding that number. So my suspicion would be the opposite of koolvik's, that they may indeed spend less time per applicant.

Thanks CrossHair, I too think that there shouldn't be any difference in the regular vs. the Off-Hours (Weekend) interview, its just that I have not seen any Weekend Inteview on this Board (and I am sure there must have been some) and wanted to see what happened.

One difference I do know is that there will not be any same day Oath which usually happens in my DO for the interviews conducted before 11:30 a.m.

Additionally, weekend interviews are only one saturday (or Sunday) per month as per the Washington Poste (quoted ealier)

Novel idea but I am not sure if they will do that... Imagine what kind of food (Brunch) they would have... Freedom Fries?
