Any time limit between I-140 Completion Date and I-485 filing date?

Hello,

I need a small information. Is there any time limit between I-140 completion Date and the filing of I-485? Some of my friends told me that there is a time limit of 6 months between I-140 completion date and I-485 filing date. Since I am planning to get married in May/June sometime and my I-140 completed in last September, I am a little bit worried about this.

Any information regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

There is no time requirement as far as having to wait before you file your I-485. All priority dates are current as of this time. As for your intending marriage, you need to be sure you are married before your I-485 is approved if you would like to attach your fiance to your permanent residence petition. Therefore, there might some waiting time to make sure you don\'t get your approval before your fiance becomes your eligible spouse. Go ahead and e-mail me, I\'ll be glad to help you out.
