any suggestions please

i want to apply for NIW.....but not sure under what category

i am working as a post doc (biology) on opt at university of houston. i have to be here till i complete my project (may be dec) ..
so i will moving to another job in jan hopefully...
should i apply for NIW under oustanding category or just NIW or just wait till i have found another job...i don't want to lose the six months.

i have mixed reports in what i should file as
any help would be greatly appreciated

NIW is not dependant on a job offer, so it does not matter when you apply.

There is no such thing as NIW outstanding category. If you mean EB-1 OR (outstanding researcher), that is sponsored by your employer and you would have to wait for your next job. EB-1 EA (extraordinary ability), like NIW, is a self petition not dependant on a specific job offer. You may qualify for both.
