Any recent visa stamping experience in Calcutta

I am going to Calcutta and while there would like to revalidate my H1 visa. Does anyone know if you can make an appointment at the US consulate in Calcutta, and get your passport stamped on the same day. I will be in Cal for only a couple of days and therefore the "drop box" method may not be too convenient if it takes longer than two days for processing. Any suggestions will be welcome.

I was in calcutta abd had called them up for the processing time. For H1-B visa holders you just need a drop box and they will return the stamped passport after 1 day if all goes well.

There is not much to worry at cal as there is not much of a crowd.
