Any recent PP stamping experience @ SFO please post your details here!!!

Got stampped at SFO on 21st june.............

Went in around 8:30 AM, by showing the appointments mentioned in approval notice, and dropped our approval notice at 200B room. Waited for 20 mins and were called by the officer. No questions asked. He took our EAD cards, Advance parole and passport. finger printing and photos were also taken. Just waited for about half hour, we were out with the passport stampped and the officer informed us that we should be getting our cards in about 7 to 8 months. We also enquired about travelling out of country and found no pbms in that. Basically no questions were asked and the officer was very polite.

We r based at San jose but went to SFO as my lawyer said that there would be less crowd........had my own doubts but it worked out.......

Good Luck for all who have go for stampping.

Got it stamped on June 24th and here is my experience....

We took our ADIT style photos in a photo shop just across the INS office. It was done in 20 mins and we entered thru\' the door on Sansome Street. There was no queue at all. At the security check, we were asked for an appointment letter(with photo ID) and we showed our courtesy copies(I\'m yet to receive the originals from my lawyer) and they let us in.

9:30 AM - Dropped our approval notices at the 200B office door
11:00AM - Officer at couter 19 called out our names and he took our
          passport/I-94/EAD/AP/2 photos(each) and had our
fingerprints and signatures taken in a form.
01:10PM - We were called again to counter 19 and the officer gave back
our passports with I551 temporary stamp valid for 1 yr and
told us the plastic card would be sent with in 6-8 months.

It took us around 3.5 hrs unlike many others may be \'cause it was Monday. I don\'t know if it would been faster if we had got there before 8AM. But there was another family who dropped it around 8:30AM got their stamping at 11:30AM. So basically it was the same time for everybody. So guys going on Monday be prepared for long waiting hours and don\'t use metered parking(luckily I had parked it in a garage though expensive I didn\'t have to worry about expired meter). Another suggestion is it is better to take pictures in the photo shop across the INS office($13 for 2 copies though). Because I\'d seen at least 4 people who were asked to retake their photos.

Overall compared to others who got it stamped in SFO, we had to wait for a long time...but what the heck, waited for years without knowing what was going on and so waiting for a couple of more hours didn\'t bother me.....I\'ve one request though..The whole thing was easy for me \'cause of experiences posted in this forum...So people should continue posting their experiences(though it may be repetitive) which will benefit a lot of people getting approved after us...

Thanks and good luck to y\'ll.......

PS: PCee I saw a link in your page to PP stamping experiences which was not up-to-date. I don\'t know if you\'ve stopped updating experience links may be it\'s too much to do as you\'re already updating other details. But if you have plans to update it please add this to your page. I really appreciate your time and effort you put in updating the approval list. Thanks a lot and I really wait to see your approval coming thru\'....Good luck

Got Stamped @ SFO on 21st Jun 02

Went to SFO Office by 9.30 AM. Dropped our approval notice and Passports in dropbox.

The office called us in 15 minutes for signature, index fingerprints. He was very gentle and professional. (I couldn\'t beleive it.. He was a real nice person!!).

He took our AP/EAD/I-94 docs. My photos were little larger than required size. He told me, if I want I can submitt those but better to submit the new ones. He asked me to go accross the street and bring new snaps. I went down and brought new snaps. Till that time he processed the approval for my spouse.

When I came back, he directly called me and took the snaps. After 30-40 minutes he gave us back our passports. He explained us about the stamp and congratulated us. The whole process was over in 70-80 minutes.

It was a real nice experience. Thanx to Mr. Nice Guy (INS Officer).

Good luck to you all who have to go for the stamping.

Just got stamped!

8:00 joined the line of around 10 people
8:10 walked into the bldg. after showing approval copy and ID
8:15 Dropped the approval notice (courtesy copy) (room 200B)
8:20 A lady called my name and said that they needed my passport too
8:30 the guy at counter 19 called my name; took pics, EAD, AP
9:15 The same guy handed over the passport after a brief explanation about the stamp.

Photos for stamping

Hi Guys,

My AVM changed to approved and am waiting for the notice. I will appreciate if you could provide the following clarifications re- stamping,

Do We Need Appointment for the stamping or INS specifiies this in the approval notice? Can we do the stamping before the appointment date?

1. What do I need to take with me for stamping?
2. When INS will take photos, do I need to carry our photos with us, like many mentioned about getting this done from the shop across the INS office.
3. How many photos are required?
4. Do we need photos for Kids?
5. What's the name of the photo shop?

Milli,

I saw your posting of getting approved, could you please tell me how many days it take for getting notice after AVM change?

I know these are lots of questions and hope you don't mind.
Thanks and truly appreciate your help.

Green2001,

I know you're quite excited about your approval. I did reply to your private message. Please read all the postings before shooting your questions. This thread has answers to most of your questions. I dunno about the photo requirement for kids. But I guess if you'd given ADIT photo at the time of 485 filing you would need photos for stamping too. I don't remember the photo studio's name....it's just across facing the Sansome street entrance....believe me you won't miss it.....

For Milli

Thanks for the reply.

Well, I am sure the information will be there somewhere in some thread. I am not a Senior member or the one who has spent so much time or is conversant with the message board. I happen to be on this forum once or twice.

So sorry for any inconvenience caused but I didn't have time to read all the threads.

PP Stamping at SFO

We rached INS buiding around 9.00AM and had our photos from the shop across and reached the Room 200B at 9.30. It look us 45 minutes to get the whole stuff done and came out at 1030.

As I had parked the car in the street, I had to go out once to put additional money for another hour.

So now the wait for the Plastic card begins.

Any idea how much time it takes to receive card after stamping?

Thanks.
