Any recent experience with TNs at San Ysidro?

Just would like to know if anyone has had much luck here in the last year or two... I have been approved once and denied once here and I have had about 5 approvals elsewhere since being denied. I am a lot more experienced with TNs now, and feel more confident about discussing the NAFTA law and TNs - though if I get someone like the person who denied me there before, it may not matter...

Any semi-recent stories? Thanks!

My apologies for replying to this post not having an answer to your question, but it prompted a question of my own:

I am a Canadian citizen, hoping to obtain TN status for a new position (I'm currently on a J-1). Since I'm located in San Diego, it would be great if I could apply (NOT renew) at San Ysidro. Is that possible, or does the POE have to be in Canada?

Many thanks.

TN's can be obtained at any port of entry (including the mexican border). You cannot 'renew' a TN (extensions for existing, non-changing TN's is possible, however). Just make sure you have all of the correct paperwork and requirements.
