Hello, everyone
I'm new here. I feel that this is a very helpful website. I need some advice.
I got licensed as a physical therapist about one year ago. However, aside from license , to applly for work permit and green card, I need some score in English test.
I haven't passed the english spoken test yet which is a disaster.
one recruting agency told me that it still can file an I-140 for me and I can start working without passing the english test, but it mentioned that I still have to pass the test because at some point INS will ask me for the score. Is there any one who is familiar this process?
I will welcome any advice..
Thank you.

Hi Soodala,
where will you require English speaking test ?? my wife is a PT too and she gave her GRE before she started her masters and after graduation she gave NPTE exam for license. Her employer filed her GC and because she was on H4, she applied for SSN and we filed our 485 also with 140 so we received work permit. She startd working and we are in last stage of gc. I am not sure if you have right information but share with us and we may figure what you are saying is true.
Let me know which process requires spoken English test - Yes you may need it in Visascreen certificate for Immigration - but if you have done your PT degree outside US i.e. India or other country but if you have done your PT here in US then you can waive engish requirement. You can join some classes for english otherwise, you will see advt. on www.sulekha.com for tutions, or you can put an advt for free that i want to learn spoken english and grammer and someone will teach you, there is no shame in learning something you don't know. Go ahead if needed. Wish you luck.
