Any problems for renewing an Expired EAD ?

Experts, advise needed.

My spouse 485 is still pending (mine approved) and the current EAD (Never used) expires by November end. His H1 is valid till June 2006. So, if we allow the EAD to expire and try renewing the Expired EAD in, say, April 2006, will it cause any problems ? (hopefully, his 485 will get approved by then).

The EAD does not have to be renewed before its expiration if you actually do not use it.
