Hi, If I change the employer after 180 days, is there any problem with the present employer(GC filed employer)?
I am planning to chenge the employer.

I don't have copies of I140 and LC with me. My employer is keeping all these documents. But I have 485 receipt.
If I change the employer after 180 days do I need the copies of I140 and LC?
What are the required documents I have to send to INS to inform the employer change?

Please advise me.

Thanks.

If you switch employers after 180 days for I-485 filing, you will need to prove to INS that the new job is similar to the one that was used to file for LC.

So you do need to know the description for the job and salary details from LC.

How you get it from your current lawyer is the trick.

Speak to a good lawyer about how to get out of this situation.

Post the same msg in the 'I-485 portability' forum.
Also go thru the archives in that forum in detail. You would find plenty of 'same or similar' postings.
I dont think LC documentation is required.
Thanks
