any other ways to stay here after 6 years of H1B

Hi all,
my H1B 6 years is going to get over soon. can my employer apply for B1 visa or L1 visa (my employer has branches in my native country), just before completion of 6 years, so that i can stay here without going back. is it necessary for me to go and come back in either case of B1 or L1.

is it that after 6 years of H1B, one cannot stay here on ANY visa for one year.

what are the other options to consider?

Has your company applied for your GC

If your company has applied for your GC and it has reached the 140 stage there are some chances that you can get an extension on your stay even beyond the alloted 6 yrs. Consult a lawyer on the exact terms
 
Maximum time

Law says that you can stay here on H visa for only 6yrs. You can get either Business or "L" visa and continue here. however if you want to go back and come again, you need to get stamping in Consulate in india. But i heard that lot of visa are getting rejected from H visa to some other visa. i dont know the reason.
