No RFE.
No Approval.

Called several times, Case assigned to officer in Dec/05/2002, still as of today no approval. By calling INS will cause in delay?

Contacted local senator's office, got email back saying that

"You are currently undergoing the necessary background checks. "

What is this means to me??? What do they check for background? It is more than 3 months now, Is any thing I can do just waiting, Please share simillar experince. I'm now loosing my control.

I can understand your frustration! .. 'cause I was in your boat till March 12th!

I don't think calling IIO will cause problems. But calling too many times will also frustrate you more!

You said your case was assigned to the officer during Dec 2002. I have noticed 2 to 3 months delay in cases handled during (the fateful) Dec 2002.

The only logical explanation that I can think of is - When the 'Freeze' was finally lifted on Jan 21st, NSC was in a rush to show progress and released Sep and OCt cases to the officers and the officers started processing those first , pushing Jul and Aug cases down the pile. Depending on the pending cases already with each officer, it is taking that much longer to get the old cases!

I am sure your case will be Approved very soon. Just hang in there and if possible take up to some thing other than 'thinking of Green Card'. My advise is based purely on my own experience - So no offence meant!
