Any one faced this or heard

Here are the details: I140 for AOS approved under EB2. Submitted I485 . When I called IIO last week and informed that my I140 has sent to India for education and employment verification. Does anyone have the same situation? What I heard is once it’s gone for verification to home country it will take years together for processing. Greatly appreciated if any one-give good advise in this situation.

I saw this message any comments??

DPA if you can give some light on this.

Strange

This is crazy. I have not heard anything like this before. Where did they send the query in India: Your ex. employer in India or your educational institution? Or they directed the query to U.S. consulate for further investigation.

Once I-140 is approved then why they are trying to inquire about it. They should not have approved it if they had any doubts about it. I am sorry I could not be of more help to you, but you need to talk to your attorney and let him or her clarify this for you.

I know INS has a list a list of universities in case of India, which they consider not recognized by government of India. I am not sure if you are from India or some other country, but this policy can be true in case of other countries....just something to keep in mind.

Good Luck, hope everything works out for you.

Could you please post your I-140 and I-485 RD, ND, AD details.
Are you sure that the officer told you that your I-140 papers were send to India for verification? I never heard that the INS approved a case and then verify the certificates later. Once the petition was approved, why would any officer go back and reopen the case? It simply doesn't make any sense. The only possibility is that, they send your papers for verification as a part of I-485 processing, not I-140. They must have seen some visible discrepancies in the letters (from India) that you submitted to them which triggered verification with Indian universities and employers. If you are from those universities that were in list of INS requiring verification, then they would do that. These are some rare cases. The best thing for you to do is get in touch with your ex-employers and university in India and let them know that a verification is going on by INS through the consulate in India and request them to respond positvely and immediately, if the letters were genuine. I request that you post your case details here. Good luck.
