Any one ????? Can I go on Monday for passport stamping at NYC

Hi All,
I have received the approval notices (originals) from attorney today (Saturday).

Can I go on Monday 29th Oct to 26 Federal Plaza,NYC for Passport Stamping ?

The approval notice says Friday 7:30 to 4:00 PM.

I remember seeing a msg which says Mon to Thurs it is in 3rd Floor.

Any suggestions ?

I recently moved from CSC to NEW YORK (VSC) I need to go for re stamping
do I need to make an appointment I understand that the ins office in nyc does the stamping only on friday .. i am a little confused
any commnet would be apreaciated
 
No stamping on MON to THURSDAYs NYC only on FRIDAYS

Hi,
Today (10/29/01- Monday) we went there around 7:00 AM. Already about 100 people in the
line. They started allowing us inside at 7:30 AM. Our turn came
at 8:00 AM.

Straight gone to Room No. 1-102. We were they told to go to
3rd floor. Waited in the queue to get the number then the lady
at the counter told us to go down stairs to Room 1-102. Gone down stairs. After waiting in the queue for about 15 minutes we were told to go upstairs 3rd floor. Again gone to 3rd floor. That lady again
told us to go to down stairs. After I explained to her that
we were shuttling between upstairs and downstairs she gave us
one token. After waiting for about 10 minutes our turn came.

Finally gone to the counter. Looks like that officer does not know
any thing (or our bad luck). She asked us what is this. What
you want etc. After explaining she said oh I have to do finger
printing. And she told me to get 3 more tokens as we were 4.
I got another 3 tokens and gave it her then she took my finger
prints and took the photographs.
And she saw Advance Parole etc with me and asked me what are those
then I explained to her that I have to return to them as per
the approval letter and I showed her where it is on approval letter.
Then she asked me why do I have to return to her as they are
still valid. Then I told her that once I get the stamping on my
passport then those are not valid and required as I can use
the stamping on the passport as travel document and employment
authorisation. The funny thing here is she asked me what stamping ?
I am not going to do any stamping. Then I explained to her what does
it mean etc. Then she asked me to wait and walked to next window
and asked other lady there.

Then I got the final answer there. That is they do the passport
stamping only on Fridays in Room No. 1-102.

She returned all the papers. destroyed the forms where she took
my signaure and finger prints. She did not enter any thing in
the computer.

When we were coming out we stopped again at Room No. 1-102.
This time there was other gentleman standing there and I asked
him whether they do the passport stamping on other than Fridays.
First he told to that I get it done on 3rd floor. When I explained
to him what happened then told me "may be they changed it and now
they may not be doing it on other days" and asked me to come on
Friday and wait at Worth St. Entrance.

We will be going back on this Friday (11/02/01) and try our luck
post the details.
