Any news on Filing for Citizenship 5 years from when I-485 was filed for LC PR's

Does anybody know if there have been/will ever be any news on this topic ? It would be fair to allow people who have waited endlessly on GC while on adjustment of status, to apply for Citizenship 5 years after 6 months have passed after I-485 filing.

I hear ya, but I guess there won't be any news. Technically you can remain outside of the USA during the whole green card process, therefore the 5 years requirement to "bond" you with your new residence country. It does not matter that most of us here are adjusting status.

I guess you could lobby your congressman and/or senator to change the law, but it is highly unlikely to succeed with hostile attitude towards immigration now prevalent at Congress.
