Any idea why VSC would transfer to MSC?

I leave in New England and all my applications so far (for the past 5 years...) have been sent to, filed in, and processed by VSC.
I just filed for renewal of my EAD and after two weeks of not hearing anyting I received yesterday the receipt with MSC (Missouri) number.

Any one knows why is that, and it this is normal? Why MSC from all places...?

Your EAD case needs special investigation. MSC is the central of isvestigation of USCIS.
