any i-EAD experience at Los Angeles INS office

Los Angeles Office Need Original I-765 Notice to issue iEAD.

We went once with a copy of I-765 Notice date. Got in the queue, went through security line, got a ticket, waited 5 hours to get our turn and the officer was so rude, didn\'t listen anything and kept telling us that \'sir we need original I-765 to issue an EAD\'.

Next time we went with original EAD, My spoused requested to the officer if she can go in as she is having her little baby with her, security officer didnt\' listen but when she reached the entrance and baby was crying he asked her to go in first next time without waiting in the LIne :-) So nice of him !!

After passing the security line, got the ticket. The security officer inside the building a tall, handsome ( 45s age ), Latino/Indian Lookind was so nice, my spouse chatted with hom for a while and then he told her that he can allow me in without going into the line, just passed security line and I was in. Again waited 5 hours again, same officer( My spouse was praying so that she need to see that officer\'s face again in her life!! but her prayer was not heard ), the officer still didn\'t liked us and he went into talke to his superwiser. He Took his own time asking couple of questions and then asked to go downstairs to have the photo done and EAD issued. Downstair room ( I don\'t remember the room number ), is cool guys. Took the picture and issued EAD in 15 minutes.

So finally go the EAD for my spouse.

So When you go to Los Angeles downtown INS office, Keep in mind following things:

1. Take your original receipt notice with you. I-765 original notice is required, you may take your original I-485 as well in case.
2. Go early or you may not get your turn
3. You dont\' need photographs for iEAD, they will take your pictuer.
4. Take your ID and passport with you.
5. Park on Temple street $6.65 flat rate. Take La avenue, left on temple and after first Light, look towards right. Open parking area.
6. If you\'ve kids with you, ask the security officer, he may let you in without waiting in the line.
7. Take something to eat with you, eating not allowed inside but you can come out while waiting and go in again. Its going to take 3-4 hours anyway.

I posted a message two days ago in another thread. I am in the L.A. area too.

Do you know if they can issue an iEAD within 90 days after filing the I-765? My I-765 was filed in March, and I lost my job two weeks ago and got an interview next week ... I am afraid that they will turn me down because I cannot work until late June ...

Can you tell me how long do you wait for EAD when you go for the iEAD?

normally they allow u to get an iEAD after 90 days have passed upon filing of EAD and no action has been done yet. when u apply for an iEAD you can get it the same day u applied for it. hope i answered ur ?

there is any chance that I can get an iEAD before I wait for 90 days.
I was laid off two weeks ago. And my I-765 filed on March 26th. I really hope i can get one now.

Did the people at INS really counted the days when you applied the iEAD card? Thanks again.
