Hi Everyone,

My daughter has a I-730 interview at the Embassy on Friday and I'm starting to get very nervous.
Has anyone been throught this experience? I am not sure what kind of questions they are going to ask her since she is only 8! My mom is going with her and even thought I have given her all the information that I think she needs for the interview, she is also very nervous and I'm afraid she won't be able to respond to all the questions.
Any info that you have will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Camila18,
I as far as I know, since she is your daughter and you have legal documents, it wouldn't be any problem.
What do they expect from 8 years old kid?
I never had any similar experience.
Best thing you may do is, call an immigration lawyer and ask them what she has to prove, which I think it wil be all documents and some family question.
If I found more info. I let you know.
Goodluck

In which embassy (country) the interview will be?

Why you are not going with her?

Hi,

The interview is in Spain, I wasn't able to go because they let us know the date for the interview a week and a half ago and that didn't give me enough time to get a Schengen visa to Spain (takes 2 weeks) and leave my office in NY.
I called the embassy and they said that it wasn't necessary for me to attend; that my mom could go in my place with a notarized authorization which I sent.
I asked a lawyer want kind of questions she will be asked and he told me they just wanted to confirm her identity and to get basic info from my mom like: how long has she been with you, why did they get separated, does she send money for her child support, etc.
I have tried to prepare my mom for these questions but I was wondering if someone had been in my same situation. I've only met asylee dependents that are adults (wife or husband) and I'm not sure how it works for a minor child. I've also tried looking on-line but haven't found much info about it.
If anyone knows anything, please let me know!
Thanks so much!
