I was called for Interview yesterday (6th Dec 2006) and the guy stamped our passports. My case was EB3 with PD 23rd Feb 2001 and my 485 was pending since August 2002. My company had a trouble with INS and all our cases were investigated by Cleveland Office. In Jan 2006, seems like all investigation was done and case was moved to Vermont and then to Fairfax office. Both me any wife were called to the interview with 30 mins difference in appointment times, But after we went there, we were called together. I was expecting lot of questions. But no questions apart from regualar application questions but he asked if i still work for same company. I used AC21 and seems they dint get the notification that my new company sent. Anyways he checked if visa number was available and just stamped our passports and said we will get card within 6 - 8 weeks.
Can you tell us about the trouble your company had with the ins and also the result of the inquiry? Did you get any letter from the ins related to the
inquiry?
Thank you for your prompt reply.rk090 said:I am not 100% sure what the problem was. But one guy from company was stopped at the border and sent back and we came to know that INS had flags on the company. No letter from INS to us but the cases were moved to local office and when attorneys from company contacted INS, they were told about the inquiry and problem. I think it was some confusion because INS sent an apology letter. But still local office went ahead with inquiry which took almost 2 years and after it was cleared, they continued processing our files. What ever was issue, now seems to be gone.

2.Cleveland office transferred case back to Nebraska where it came from, then Nebraska transferred to Vermont and then to Fairfax office
3.I filed AC21 papers with both cleveland office and vermont office, but it seemed they either did not receive them or did not care to file them with application as the officer at interview was not aware of that
4.When the case started moving, i got paper and online notifications for all trasnfers
Good Luck
You must have inquired about your case during the two years of investigation. If you did then what kind of reponse you got from the cleveland office?
Once again thank you for all your help.
