Hello all

My wife has been stuck in the name check process for over a year. Yesterday she received a letter asking for her birth certificate, which we clearly provided with the rest of the application documents. If the immigration officer concurred with all the necessary documentation during the interview over a year ago, why are they asking for this information again.

Will this causes us to wait a long time again in order to get the application approved?

any experiences or thoughts are appreciated.

Regards
Peter

gzmbk1,

It has been over a year like you said. Documents/paperwork can get here and there specially when it moves from one desk to another, so I am not suprised. Good thing is, USCIS approached you asking for your wife's BC. Now look at the broght side, if you think about it that someone is actively working on your wife's case/application and your file is not sitting somewhere in some corner. If they have requested for your wife's BC, once they get it, they will resume the case and continue working on her case. The clock won't reset, trust me. Ofcourse this missing BC must have caused a couple of weeks delay but hey who cares, you guys have been patient for over a year now, these 2-3 weeks shouldn't matter that much.

Good luck.

thanks for the input. I was afraid that was going to set us back to the beginning again. With them is hard to predict, but thanks again

Peter
