Any experience on H4 to F1

does anyone have the experience of transfering from h4 to f1, can I get transfered without going out of US, how long will it take, what are the necessay documents and material we must submit, what is the procedures?

I did change my visa from H4 to F1 two years back. It was not a problem at all. I had submitted my I-20 and I got a new I-94.
