Of course, why not! I will anyway. Although I have to say, the down side of playing and winning and getting a high case No is, the wait. From when I applied in October 2006 it has so far been one year. And If my number does be come current at the end of the summer, it will be near on two years before I get a GC. Putting your life on hold for two years on the basis that you may get a CG is a real pain in the you know what. If I play DV-09 and win, and did not get GC from DV-08 the two year cycle would start all over again! I don’t think I could deal with it. Although My chances of winning again are fairly negligible so I am going to play anyway, it cant hurt!
Hey with your number, your interview should be around the corner. Why don't you wait and conclude your interview since the online application will still be on till December so as not to reduce the chances of others. For me I do not have a relation that is qualified to give me the support required. However someone advised I contact some of the churches in the U.S. I tell you by this I have 3 willing sponsors. This may help.I think I will be too.
I am worried if I get an interview (I should with like low CN) that I am going to be rejected as I don't have a job offer, no-one to ask to sponsor me and even though I will have above the poverty guidelines in funds, I don't know how much that will impress them in Sydney as they seem strict there from what I have read on other boards when it comes to the funds. (I'm not sure how they expect someone in their 20s who is single to have thousands stacked away..!) LOL
I am fully qualified, will have a Masters and have never been unemployed but even that won't impress them it seems.
That is the *only* thing that is worrying me so because of that, I will definitely be applying again.
Hey Alemitmee with your high case number you should try again, who knows, may this time you will get CN 00000001Wouldn't that be awesome?
This high case number will be the death of me! I swear. I am going to get a green card even If i have to set up camp out side the Embassy next year! just kidding, I know that would not really make a blind bit of difference.
I would not hold out much hope of being selected again, getting a NL is a minor miracle I think. I may have to put my ideas of moving to the US to bed if I never make it current. :-(
Never mind plenty more countries out there to explore! But its not over for a long time yet ….![]()
I know a person from my country who also won it twice ina row, unfortunately both times he secured a high CN number and didn't get chance for interview and third time was no charm for him. I am going to enter for 2009 and have my wife enter enter as wellDon't give up hope about being selected again. I remember reading somewhere of a couple persons winning DV 2007 and DV 2008. The odds against this happening are great but still......
In any event, you may just get squeezed in this year if the current rate keeps up.

Thanks for the words of support islandgirl! I am also hopeful I will be squeezed in. If I can just get an interview….., hopefully I should be ok. I have to say this forum and all the people on it give such good support! I’d be lost with out it!, don’t forget to let us know how your interview goes, looking forward to you reporting your GC success back to us all!
Just an after thought , are these rank numbers sequential? like can you count from 1 to 100,000 and every number has a winner or a person tagged with it?
Like if I have 67,XXX , does that mean that in order for me to get a green card one or more of the following conditions must hold true.
1.At least 20,000 individuals flank out the lottery programme due to random events.
2.The number of people from my region who qualify and don't receive their green cards are at least 60% of the 7% alloted for each country.
3.The cut off's maintain a trendy curve upwards using the same marginal changes as for the past two months (will take 5 months).
4.(not very likely to happen),I get a Nobel prize and am deemed important and am moved up the queue.
TonyBlack, I honestly don’t think its as bad as you think. I am at work at the moment, but when I get a chance I will put up a detailed post that may help ease your worry.![]()
