Any chennai H4 stamping experience for Australian nationals

I would like to know if there is an issue in getting H4 stamped in an Australian passport at Chennai consulate. I wonder if they tell the applicant to apply from Australia.

My wife currently on EAD, i.e pending AOS would be approaching chennai consulate for H4 stamping in July/August 2004. Depending on the experience I may have to alter this plan.
