I have EAD and AP. My H1 is expired. Finger printing is done. Planning to travel to India for short trip. Please tell me what are all the documents
one should carry apart from AP docs. I have three copies of AP. Since my I-94 has been expired, will airline ask any visa requirement while coming back. and How long one can stay out of country while using AP. Please share your experience. THanks in advance.

Wife and Kids used AP and landed yesterday without any issues.

Hi
Yesterday my wife and kids came back on AP from India.
She had AP documents and (photocopy) receipt notices of 485/EAD before she left.

My H1 visa along with my family\'s H4 visas expired on 04/01/2002.
My wife and kids got AP documents in March last week.
So, before they boarded the flight at SFO, SQ Airlines person at the
check-in counter took the expired I94.
They landed in India and spent their vacation.

They travelled from Hyderabad (India) to SFO via Singapore. At Hyderabad airport, customs just looked at AP documents. No questions were asked. No issues.

But before they boarded SQ flight to SFO, their AP documents were looked carefully and asked asked them to fill in a form (she doesnot recollect the exact name of the form but something likethis) Form APVS (Adv. Parole Verfification System??). INS agent informed that this document will be faxed to SFO for verfications. Then they boarded the plane and landed at SFO

Before landing they filled up I94 forms and at SFO, they stood in the
regular line (visitors/non-immigrations). At the counter officer asked them to go into the immigration-room. There the officer looked at their AP docs. and stamped on I94 , on AP documents and in passport which has words like \'AOS adjustee\', \'INDEF\' and their A#s.

That\'s all.

BTW, I read somewhere with AP you can be outside for max. of 3 months. Check
with your lawyer!!.

Good Luck!!

Used AP

I entered using AP last Monday.

(1) While departing US, I just submitted my expired I-94 while checking in to get boarding pass.

(2) While entering, Immigration Officer at Port of Entry just transferred me to a room for Secondary checking. After asking some identification questions, they stamped AP abnd I-94.

Only original AP, passport were asked for.

AP is THE most powerful document

We just travelled to India and came back with AP.
(expired I94 and expired visa in passport)

At every airport we went (sfo-spore-cochin), we just showed AP and there were no questions asked.
End of our journey, I just felt like AP is the most powerful document one can have (before the GC)
It covers for visa, travel document, proof of applied 485 etc etc
