Another business while working with sponsoring employer

Guys, I have been in adjustment of status for almost 15 months now. I am with my original, sponsoring employer (a large consulting company). Last year, I became a member of a foreign partnership with my parents (I participate only from an investment perspective). My only full time job is with my employer but my losses from the partnership show up on my tax return.

Do you know if being a member of this partnership could be an issue if I get a tax return RFE or if I get transferred to a local office for an interview?

If you are only an investor, then it is OK. If you invest in stock market, you report gains and losses in your tax return, don't you? This is the same situation.

Thanks for your reply!
To clarify, I am also a partner in this foreign partnership. It is based in my home country but I am not physically there and I do not actively do work for it.

Does that make a difference?

Thanks!

It does not make any difference. You are OK.
