Anguish about H1B by Americans

No surprise. As the unemployment rate continues to climb, Americans will resent foreigners coming here and competing in the job market (the fact that none of those who are unemployed could fill most of these positions seems to be overlooked). Also realize that a web site does not necessarily represent the opinions of most Americans. There are websites expressing virtually every feeling or idea, some of which are extremely vile if you as me.

Jim and others

Jim,

You hit the nail on the head by saying “the fact that none of those who are unemployed could fill most of these positions seems to be overlooked”. I looked at this web site and to be honest I really do not think that this guy has any clue about hi-tech industry or matter of fact what H-1b’s are doing for this country. I agree economy is not doing so well, but a construction worker who is got laid off cannot fill my IT position. It would be wise if this web site has some data comparing – how many U.S. citizens are being displaced by H-1b’s.

I do not argue against reducing the H-1b quota cause I don’t think that current economic environment need so many H-1b’s.

Last but important: this web site is poorly designed with no concrete evidence to prove that H-1b’s are taking all the jobs. I would not hire this guy to be my web master.

Sincerely,

RamFan
