Analysis - VSC->TSC Xfer and Processing Date

Hi,

How about analysing the following:

My case was traferred to TSC from VSC on 03/15/07.

Received an email from USCIS on 03/23/07, that TSC had received my case from VSC. SO I guess, that means my RD for TSC is 03/23/07.

Per the current service ctr processing time, TSC is now processing cases with RD of 03/15/07. Questions:

1. Does the clock of processing re-starts from Day # 1 for TSC or will they also consider the already wasted days at VSC?
My 485 RD for VSC was/is 09/26/05.

add case details like PD RD ND and XFR dates LUD FP to your signature. Then we can atleast say something about u r case.

USCIS is very consistant in its inconsistancy.

So there is any no order for case processesing. To me its looks like Chaos. Dont speculate anything. Try to find out the Namecheck status and FP info.

If NC is not cleared work with First Lady/CongressMan/Senator/INFOPASS/SR Creation/inquire in National CS.

You can do nothing more than this..................

Hi GreatGC,

When the transfers were effected based on bi-specialization I guess they said the applications will retain their initial receipt dates and this transfer would not affect processing in any way.

Contrary to that, when I called TSC recently afte my PD became current, I was surprised to hear the automated message on TSC saying when I entered my 485 receipt number that I should allow 6 months as the case was transferred on March 2! From where does this 6 months come from suddenly I have no clue. And for what?

I was thinking that TSC would process applications based on the VSC issued receipt notices. However as I gather from various threads in the forum, the number of approvals for VSC transferred cases seems to be slow and less than the approvals for cases initially filed in TSC.

It's not clear to me how TSC is processing the transferred cases.

Did you call the same 800 number (1-800-375-5283)? If yes do you remember what sequence of button presses you used to get to the point where it asks for a 485 receipt number? When I called, after a couple of presses it went to a person without allowing me to enter the receipt number.

I guess Yankee_boy was trying to say that message itself says wait for 6 months after the transfer. If that is what they perceive to process case from July 1st, then all the transfered cases are doomed.

I want to try to reproduce that message about waiting 6 months. If I call and hear the same thing for myself, I will write to the Ombudsman about how the transferred cases are being treated, and as proof I will include directions on how that message can be heard. That's why I wanted the specifics.

Hi JackOLantern,

I used the POJ method that I found in this forum to call TSC. I am giving the POJ method I picked up from one of the posts at the bottom of this message.

After I entered the EAC number the automated message said your case was transferred blah blah and said allow for 180 days (6 months) before enquiring on the case. After this automated message ended, I pressed the other menu options as outlined in the POJ method. Then I reached an officer.

When I asked the officer that my case is out of processing times and why is it that I need to wait for six months before enquiring on my case, she said she will open a service request. She refused to say anything on name check although I asked her a couple of times. All she said was that everything looks okhay, but I needed to wait. Then she said I will hear from VSC on the service request.

That is when I asked her why are we going back to VSC when the case is in TSC. She kept saying the same thing like a machine that VSC will get back. Do you know why the service request is handled from VSC when our cases are supposed to be in TSC?

Appreciate your reply. Thank you.

[FONT=&quot]Dial TSC at 1800 375 5283 and then select menu options in approximately this order: 12261. Then the system prompted me to enter the receipt number (which is EAC# for us since our cases are transferred cases). And then press options something like 1134. That took me to a representative.
It took me a while to realize that I needed to enter the letters EAC also on the dial pad. In fact it took me a couple of days to figure that damn thing out as I just kept entering the numbers after EAC and it kept kicking me out saying I entered a wrong receipt number! That is a different learning experience.

I just called and entered my EAC# and the computerized message told me about being transferred to TSC, but nothing about waiting six months or 180 days.

greatgc and yankee_boy, Have you tried the InfoPass route? You'll get the latest information about your case from horse's mouth.

Hi JackOLantern,

For me the automated message ended by saying "Allow 180 days before enquiring about this case." I am not sure if differs from case to case!!!

Hi Anandkan,

I will have to take time and do the InfoPass. I intend to do it soon. Thanks for the tip.

I got the message (180 days) twice while trying to get the status on Thursday, may be I will try again on Monday and update the detail.

fyi

Hi,

Yes- in May 2007 I took the infopass appointment on the same day I had my second FP scheduled. They said, name check was not cleared then. I may schedule second info. pass soon, not sure though if it would make any difference.

Also, just now I checked the automated msg, which says the case was trasffered to TSC from VSC and I should allow 180 days before inquiring for the status. How ever they did not say, when did the 180 days clock started.
I guess that started on 03/23/07 when TSC received the status.

Called TSC

Hi,

I just called TSC at the 800 no.
I got hold of a nice old lady.

She asked me all standard questions that, when was my case tranffered to TSC, did I hear any thing directly from TSC, I told I recently also did my second FP etc.

She had no way of telling me if the background and name checks were cleared.

BUT... She said, IF I do not hear any thing from TSC in 30 days from today,
I need to call them back !!!! I am not sure what that means!

Any one got similar feedback from them?

Thanks

That's the standard reply.

Typically, if they believe the ball is in their court (that is, they have let your case fall out of the normal processing times), they will open a service request (SR) and tell you to call back in 30 days if you don't hear from them during that time.

However, nowadays, it seems that they are ignoring quite a few SRs. The one I opened last month expired yesterday. When I called last week to enquire about it, the lady asked me to call back this week so she could open another SR (kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it). Apparently, there's another rule in their new "system" (which has been acting very slowly recently) that doesn't allow another SR to be opened while the previous one hasn't expired.

that's funny

Oh Ok..

I thought how come they have been very nice :-)??
That explains it. Interesting and may be funny too how they get around the stuff.

The customer service reps have always been very courteous whenever I called - courteous, friendly, but ultimately unhelpful (in the sense that they have no extra information beyond what you can see yourself online).

The immigration officers I managed to speak to using the POJ method, however, were always curt - curt and unhelpful again, to the point that I don't bother trying anymore. It's also possible I got the same IO every time (with my luck, that's very probable), unless they all sound the same. :-)

Same boat

My case had been transfered to TSC from VSC with LUD on 3/27/2007 with "Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred".

Starting July'07 my PD will become current and so I started worrying about my case actual status. I had my 2'nd FP on in May'07 but after that no LUD or messgae change. Then I called FBI for FP and they said that the same day results were send back to USCIS. Last time when my case was in VSC and I had my FP, atlead they changed LUD & message saying FP results recieved and case is being processed.

What is the best way to know status of NameCheck, call to TSC, InfoPass ??

Hi va_lc_case,

Regarding the NC, while i know about the options you have listed What is "inquire in National CS" ?

Experts,

I have a question. My case was transferred to TSC on 3/15 but my spouse case is still lying in VSC, I called many times and they said it will get transferred to TSC. I need to apply for EAD extn. Where should I send my application? VSC or TSC? I'm confused. Can someone please shed some light. Also, now EAD processing time went back to Dec 2006. So, have no idea what is going to happen.

Thanks,
