Hi Folks,

My and my wife's I-485 has been approved on March 26th (Friday), 2004. Here are the details:

Came to this country in March 1998 on H1B1 Visa. Labor filed on : January 1999 (got approved in June 2002) - company lost original due to problem with the CFO. CFO actually didn't give it to HR on time and was not able to use it.

Used Labor substitution to file I-140 in June 2002. Never received I-140 Receipt. Used the Online Case Status and the Copy of Check (had the SRC number so was able to get the Online Case Status). Spoke to several attorneys and all of them told that I cannot file I-485 concurrently without the receipt notice. Spoke to TSC Immigration officials for the duplicate receipt and they told me they don't send duplicate receipt. However, one of the Immigration officer told me to file concurrently with all the evidence for I-140.

Filed I-485 in the last week of November 2002 with all the evidences for I-140, along with EAD and AP by myself. Attorney was charging $4000 to file I-485 for me and my wife. I did not want to spend that much money and hence filed by myself. Got the Receipt Notice within 2 days time and the Finger Printing was done on January 13, 2003.

I-140 got approved in the month of March 2003. First EAD and AP was also approved around the same time. Applied 2nd EAD thru Online in November 2003 and got approved in February 2004. Applied 2nd AP last month (February 2004) and not yet approved.

Changed residence in October 2003 and informed BCIS thru AR-11 and phone. Changed job in November 2003 (due to termination by the former employer) and did not inform BCIS yet.

I am waiting for the Approval Notice and let you know my stamping experience as soon as I can.

Thanks
Venkat

Congrats!
This is not bad luck at all, buddy. 2004-1998=6.0 years. At least I know many people for more than 12 years.

Let's hope they keep on approving at this pace. Is it possible that they are handling the concurrent cases differently?
Let's see ..

any one officer is # 18

I am wondering any body got RFE from Officer # 18. Wondering how is this officer.

Man, will somebody please explain me what the reason is for the threads being so messed up?

Just try to read a thread like this. First you have to scroll to the bottom, then back up to the beginning of the first post, scroll back down while reading it, and then scroll back up to read the replies, lather-rinse-repeat.

If it stays this way I'm leaving this forum.
