Its AVM - Automatic Voice Mail system. Vermont Center has a toll number that starts with 802 (given on the 485 receipt notice). This number is usually very busy during the regular business hours as people will be trying to talk to IIO (Immigration Information Officer a fancy name for dumbos) to know about their case status. If you call during off-peak hours, you can enter your receipt number and check your status using the automatic system in place.
