American spouse receiving food stamps

Hello,
My American husband and I work as volunteers for a non-profit organization. Only a small part of our compensation is cash. My husband is considering to apply for government support in form of food stamps just for himself. We are concerned that that might effect the joint sponsor for me and also that it could look bad for when we need to remove the Conditional residency next year.

I appreciate any help.

Should not be a problem since he, the American citizen is applying for himself. You do not become a public by him applying for government assistance.

PS: Your post says you are volunteers, and yet you mention receiving compensation. That is a contradiction in itself, no?
