American immigration question?

How does American Immigration law treat minors who are legal aliens (Green Card holders) and left the U.S. with their parents for over one year?

- Parents have returned to the U.S. before the end of the one year and applied for Citizenship.

-Does U.S. law have any special treatment, allowance or exemption for the dependants who were 15 and 11 years of age when they left the US with their parents in 2009?

I look forward to your answers. When possible, please provide me with hot links for supporting data and sources. Thanks.

Yes, they can apply for a returning resident visa, if they stayed over a year, please be advised that their intent shouldn't be to abandon their residence in US, which in this case will be their Parents/Guardians intent since they are minors.
