Amended I140 question (for pending I485 at VSC)

This question has been posed by many people; but, there seems to be no definite answer. I wanted to bring this up again as a separate discussion -

If VSC asks me to reapply for I140 (because of company merger/acquisition (M&A) situation) - then, where do I stand in the queue ? Will they take 8-9 months more to approve my new I140 and then reconsider my pending I485 OR will they adjudicate my new I140 case as soon as possible and continue with I485 ?

I am guessing that this has become a very important issue since lots of folks are receiving RFEs (asking for new I140) in M&A cases.

Any information will be highly appreciated.

The few messages I have seen on this subject seem to indicate that they treat this issue different from regular I-140s. They basically treat is as part of the RFE for the I-485 application. So it should be much quicker than regular I-140 applications.
