Amazing speed of processing at VSC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi friends,
Do not curse VSC all the time. Sometimes they process the cases rather quick.
I have submitted I-485, EAD and AP applications for myself and
I-485 applications for my wife and children. All of them were received at VSC on 2nd May, 2002. I have noted down the EAC numbers from the cancelled checks and to my surprise, my EAD was approved on 05/24/2002. The most surprising fact is that, I have received the card in mail today (05/28/2002). That means, VSC has made the card on the same day (Friday 24th, day before the long week end !!!!!) and mailed immediately . What a speed?
I wish INS should act at the same speed for all cases.
Just to share with you all, I have not received the receipts yet for me or my family memembers. Do I need to have them physically? (I have all the numbers from the cancelled checks).

Does this posting of yours make any sense to you?
Do you think it will to anyone else?

If you want to say something at least say SOMETHING! I am happy to know that you think VSC is fast but it will help us if we can get details on why you feel that way.

Thanks

Please see my posting #2. Looks like you have responded before I have posted the whole story.

My point is that they are not sleeping on receiving the papers after receiving them. They are acting. I see lot of posting on delays. I thought it would give some hope for all to note that VSC is acting fast. If you read my posting, I have wished that INS should resolve all the cases at this speed. Does it make any sense now Mr. Patience?

When I read the posting at first. Your other posting was not there.
All I could see was the first post. Hence my first posting.

Peace.

Even we thought the same (VSC is processing cases at amazing speed)
when we received our EAD/AP approvals after 3 weeks of notice date.
(This is called the 1st/Enthu state).
But you will move on to 2nd state/waiting for the FP notice. Every
thing looks good & green till this state.
Then starts struggle in the 3rd state - waiting for the approval...
After that you will go into 4th state - height of waiting..
We have passed 1st, 2nd & 3rd states and are in the 4th state...
Hope you can understand & it may take some time to pass through
each states....

You haven\'t mentioned the 5th state because we haven\'t experienced it yet - "NIRVANA" after the approval.

I also got EAD today even last friday\'s AVM said no approval.

I also think VSC is working amazing speed no matter what Mr. pateint comments about our new applicants luck. I also predicted early that VSC is giving high priority to new applicants. Not only VSC, TSC is also moving fast for new applicants. So guys, no matter what our old timers say, stay hopefull. For old timers, I understand you guys suffered a lot but it will end very very soon. Be hope full.

Thanks.

As Always

VSC except for some time always is fast. My case was received on Oct 3 during which time the mail rooms were closed. They sent me receipt on 11/20/2001 and on Dec 4th I received my EAD Card and on Jan 1st I got my FP notice. They are neck deep in July cases otheriwse they should have completed November by now.

The fast speed for new applications is only to be expected. INS as a rule accords higher priority to H1B petitions and EAD\'s. So, fast approval of EAD\'s is no big deal- I\'m sure almost everyone on this board received their EAD well within 90 days. It\'s the 485 that\'s problematic and always sitting on the back burner.

Okay.Cool down. If VSC is fast everyone will be happy but..........

At one stage(4th), you will be made tortoise by INS and others, before and after you, will be made rabbits. Here, it is opposite to the story of those two.Judge the winner. Good luck.

It is always better to keep reciepts of I-485. In case of tortoise, reciepts are useful to renew the EAD or AP again after one year validity.

Its not only the EAD... FP is the indication.

Forget abt the EAD,, what about FP.. VSC is processing FP within 1-2 months.. when old timers delayed big time by 6-7 months..

So I am very optimistic... how abt VSC started approving new filers insted of old timers? I heard that TSC already started approving some new cases holding old cases? Well its not fair, but INS is always unpredictable.. It could happen in VSC too... So dont be jealous...

Got EAD today 5/28/2002. ND: 4/27/2002

I never thought i would get it so soon. Great!!!.

I appreciate your analysis of different stages in 485. I know, the highly predictable behaviuor of INS. In my case, I have not received receipts for any of my applications yet? I am surprised that shocked to see waht speed they are processing. At the same I am mentally prepared to wait patiently for the approval. ( Do I have any other choice? No..definitely..not)
Habib, it is not fair to expect the later cases to be approved first. I wish that every single case before mine should be approved before they approve mine. What all I could wish is that let INS process the cases without harassing the applicants for silly RFEs.

Not always great. The earlier you get EAD/AP, the earlier it will expire.

If your case drags later, you will have to re-new EAD/ re-do FP.
