Amazing - FP notice from VSC

I just got a message from my lawyer that my finger print notice has arrived - much earlier than several others with earlier NDs. My particulars:

PD: 7/14/99 EB1, India
RD: 1/14/00
ND: 1/31/00
FP: 3/14/01 - scheduled for at Newark, NJ

Naturally, I am totally surprised about this development - especially considering I put out a notice earlier today about the slow down in FP notices for post 10/15/99 NDs. On the other hand, it could be because I\'m in the EB1 category.

You are Right. I have My RD as 01/13/00 and ND as 01/28/00. I have
not Received FP Notice. You must have received because of your EB1
Status.

well, I am EB1-EA with RD/ND in early November \'99 & no FP yet. Perhaps I should\'ve waited till Jan\'00 to file my 485 !!!!

Like I said, doesn\'t make sense. My brother-in-law in California started his process in EB2 AFTER I did, and will end up getting his GC me - his FP date is 2/16.

Go figure!

Nope! Too early for that. I suspect we\'re going to see a ton of FP notices being reported in the next 5-7 days. As I mentioned in another email, while VSC claims to be adjusting 10/15/99 applicants, what that really means is that they\'re pretty sure they\'re doing 10/15/99. I found that when they give you a date, you will find that some quicker adjudicators are already working on post 10/15/99 applications. By now, since they must be nearing the end of 10/15/99 applicants, they should be sending out FP notices to those who are post 10/15/99 - not something I\'ve seen so far - at least not till this morning.

My lawyer was quick in getting back to me via email about the notice. I suspect other lawyers must be getting the letters around now - and have just been slower with contacting their clients. I have yet to receive my complimentary copy.

As far as I have seen, EB or country doesn\'t count after filing 485. Only ND counts. HVN you should a lucky pick. Congrats. My ND is Nov1 EB3 India still waiting for FP. As you said, hope everyone gets FP faster.

things are moving in any event, which is a good thing. do you know if the 485 processing continues even as one waits for the FP date (say a month away) ? does one carry on with recieving RFE etc. while the FP thing is being taken care of seperately ? If so, then things don\'t look too bad.

bondtrader, I talked with IIO about a month back and she very clearly explained to me that get FP notice doesn\'t mean they will get thier GC\'s before you get it. I-485\'s are still going to be approved in the order of RDs. My RD at VSC is Oct. 21 99 and Only today my lawyer received my FP notice for March 6th.

In our case the waiting time from getting FP to getting I-484 is going to be very short than those who filed in 2000 and later and already got FP. I have a friend who filed 485 in May 2000 got his FP in early Aug of 2000 and is waiting for the I-485 approval ever since. He was told by IIO that they are still approving cases in Aug \'99 and it will be a long wait for him.

So, be ready to get your FP anytime now and should have GC in your pocket before Labor Day Weekend. Count on it!!!!!

Labor Day ?!!! I was hoping for Tax Day (to balance out the misery of handing hard earned dollars to the government !!). Ah well, why worry over stuff one cannot control ?

It really depends on individual luck. I am EB1. My RD is 10/7/99, and I received my FP on 2/12/01, which is no sooner than others.

Like I predicted, a ton of people have started receiving their FP notices this week!!!
