am I going to have trouble when applying citizenship?

I got my GC through employer sponsorship.
I married my wife after I got my GC.
If my wife is out of status,
is there any trouble when I apply citizenship?

The point is if I can get my citizenship,
I should be able to help my wife get GC
even if she is out of status.

Appreciate your help.

In the INS world, things are not as simple as that. Eventhough I think you should be OK if everything else is fine, I suggest you run your case by an attorney before your interview/before sponsoring your wife. You want to do this right

As long as I know, your wife's immigration status doesn't have to do with your citizenship interview.

You don't have to hire an attorney and waste your money.

Rahul,
I understand why he would want to hire an attorney before sponsoring his wife. But why would he need one for his citizenship process?

There was a post on British Expats about a guy going for a K1 visa whose father was an illegal alien living in the US. His case got delayed by many months!!

When someone is illegal (out of status) its just not the immigration point of view but other issues like tax returns can come to scrutiny. Will it happen to this person? In general chances are slim, but then would you want to take a chance with your wife's GC when you are 1 step away from becoming a Citizen ?

What if the interviewer digs furthur and send off an RFE (Request for Evidence) ? Being prepared is very good.

Many thanks to Rahul for your detailed explanation.

Also thank you, yalag and lexmarx for answering my question.
