Am I eligible to Apply ?

Hello every one....

This forum was the best that I've ever came across, and it was a vital help for me when I applied for my Green card.

However, I came now with a simple question, but I am very sure that expert people would have the answer for that... That's what I hope for,....

I've been married for almost 4 years now, and I hold a Permanent Green Card (That will expire in 10 years), however, I 've been holding this green card for only a year now.

So, Am I eligible to apply for the citizen ship or not yet ?

Your opinion would be really appreciated.

Regards,

Ayman

If you are married to a US citizen who has been citizen you must be a permanent residence for at least 3 years.

If you are married to non-citizen, then your wait time is 5 years.

Residence time is determined by the date shown on your Green Card. Prior time spent in the US is not considered for citizenship purpose.

iN CONCLUSION, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE YET TO APPLY YET. Other people will confirm.
