My dad came to the US in 1982 and became a USC in 1988. I came to the US with my mom in 1992, my dad a USC when I was 9 years old and my mom became a USC in 1999. Can I claim USC?

Thank you

You gave your information in confusing bits and pieces. When were you born? I deduce it was around 1979? (because your dad became a USC in 1988 and you were 9 at the time)

You were born too early for the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 to apply to you. The previous law required both of your parents to have naturalized before you were 18, which your mom did not. So I don't see how you can possibly be a U.S. citizen.

However, aren't you a permanent resident? Chances are, you are eligible to apply for naturalization.
