Highlights:

About 440K people stuck in name check.

FBI now has an informal policy by which they expedite namechecks if a lawsuit is pending (and so does USCIS). This will, of course, encourage more lawsuits which themselves could get stuck in pending-lawsuit backlog!

It would be laughable if it weren't so serious.

But it looks like there are more people stuck in name check for citizenship rather than GC.

How many is anybody's guess.

Just curious,
I was wondering if this name check is every year thing or it happens only once. I mean if your name check is cleared by FBI and you get an email from FBI that your name check is clear. Do you still expect that this process will be happening again the next year or so??? any idea?

Generally - once per case

.. barring a few aberrations. Unexplained. Like Area 51 and UFOs.

Is FBI still sending replies for namecheck, did you get a reply? If yes then what is their email address and how can we do inquiry?

Yes,
I got the emails around a year and half ago that my name check results were sent to USCIS by FBI.

Does one need GC to work in Area 51 ... :) Aliens are consultants there .. wonder what there status are....
