What\'s happening with INS-VSC. We hardly see any approvals from Monday? To day sofar nothing.
Did any body got a chance to talk to them.

My ND is Oct 16.

I am willing to talk to them but I already called them three times in last but one week, Do they mind if we call them constantly.

Have no idea Keerthana. I spoke to them last week, they said to the decision will be taken in another 30 days time(I think standard answer), but we are not seeing any new approvals, its really iritating.

I have been trying to contact IIO since last week.. but couldn\'t
yesterday I tried continuously for more that 1 hr but no luck.

However No AVM update till yesterday night

Hello All,

I am also in the same boat. But as I posted elsewhere, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPOUSE\'s case, if applicable, since I found out that an RFE was issued for my wife on Aug 02, 2001. But for my case AVM is still "Your I-485 was received ......"

I guess VSC for that matter all service centers might be slowing down due to large amount of applications were filed in July after EB3 became current in July. May be INS is diverting the resources to clear the frontlog.

Any other ideas for slowdown in August approval rate?

I don\'t think its better idea of contacting senator now. Lets wait for some more time(may be week or two).
Actually they(INS) said they started processing RD of Oct from July 30th or 31 st, we hardly see any approvals so far.
If any body who has not called IIO\'s so far can call them and find out and please post details here, so that we all will come to know
what\'s happening.
When I check some of my american friends, they say normally most of americans will be on vacation in the month of Auguest
every year(I have no idea).

I check AVM everyday morning around 6 AM and in the evening 8PM. I do not try in the day time as I do not want to disturb anybody who is trying to talk to IIO(for their pending cases).

Let\'s see how long we have to go with INS.

Spoke to a VERY friendly IIO just now

Hello All,

I just now spoke with an IIO after 18 mins of waiting. SHE WAS VERY FRIENDLY. She answered all my questions except details of my wife\'s RFE for which she said she did not have any more info on the same, but a copy was sent to my atty.

Just a note: I started off by "GOOD AFTERNOON OFFICER" and I do believe "COURTESY BEGETS COURTESY" holds good here.

Some IIO\'s get very upset if you keep calling to check

Based on my experience, IIOs get very frustrated if we keep calling - this is based on my experience. Some have been very rude.

Most of them check to see when you last called, and kind of throw it in your face, in some shape or form.

Also, regarding the slowdown, I suspect it could be the flood of applications as well as IIO\'s taking vacation. One I spoke to last week mentioned she was going on vacation for 2 weeks (labor day extended). She also mentioned that adjudicating officers work on 400 - 500 cases daily.

Yes sir, if you really have problem or if they are processing the month(Your ND like Oct 00) then you can call and ask
or if you have real problem like want to know FP Result, Address Change, RFE then you can talk to them, not like when they are processing Oct , some guys of Nov or Dec call them to findout about their case, this makes them irritated.

At least we all should be thankful to Rajiv for providing such a wonderful site where we exchange our experience, ideas
so we all come to know what\'s going on.

Any way I think its not a good idea of calling repeatedly, but when ever you call start with a greeting.

This is only my opinion friends
One of my friend was telling me that they are assigned to take care of I 140 Cases as those are not moving at all.

My Lawyer Sope to IIO (VSC)yesterday on my Behalf........

I had my lawyer\'s office call VSC on my behlf yesterday. VSC seems to have acknowledged that they are moving very slowly since last two weeks. Offcially they are still pulling Oct 1st week cases and advised that my case (Oct23rd) is atleast 4/5 weeks away from being assigned. My lawyer advised me to file for my EAD and AP renewals which are due in Dec.

The tracker seems to be indicating cases beinf approved from across Oct dates. I don\'t know what to make of this.

Hi Sairam,
My ND is OCT00 and waiting for my approval (hope they have assigned my case to IIO).
Though boston office has facility to get EAD (new or Renewal) walk-in, my lawyer advise me not to wait. Reason being: Boston office might be approving EAD for VSC on extended support basis and they might say anytime that file for your EAD at VSC. VSC takes about 90 days or more to approve. so, if due to any bad luck, happened to apply at VSC, then I can not work from the expiry date until EAD gets approved. I don\'t have H1B any more.
So, I will be going to boston for EAD early next week. If something happens, then I will apply through VSC.
Hope you have local district office from where you can get EAD.

VSC processing ND 10/1/00 per IIO

Hello All,

I called VSC for checking status of my wife\'s RFE. Also I did ask about my case (ND 10/24/2K). The IIO mentioned that they are processing cases that were entered in the system on Oct 1, 2000 and mine is just waiting to be assigned to an officer. So I am thinking that what VSC processing info says as RD is really ND.

thanks for info. put this info. in seperate thread as it will be helpful to others.

this gives some hopes why case is pending. but, though we saw some approvals who has ND of late october (for VSC it is RD). right?
This is you checked today with IIO or yesterday when you talked?
