AILA and I-485

My I-485 is pending now for over one and half year in Nebraska Service Center. FP was done in 03/2001. No word since then.
Someone suggested to go through AILA liason. Is this a good idea?
Do any of you know about any case involving AILA. How long does it take? My lawyer is not so keen about doing this.

Or calling the senator\'s office is a better and quicker option?

Please advise. Your suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Waiting at I 485 stage more than 470 days at NSC.

Have you tried local congressman\'s office?
