Don\'t run away and forget to give something back to the immigration community that helped you in the past.

Please post when you get your approval notice, your passport stamping experience, what the AVM changes to after stamping, when you get your
green card etc.

Also, please write to your senator and explain to them carefully
the problems with the INS. I think that since we\'ve gone through the
system as users and emerged successfully our opinion will carry some
weight. This will make it better for the next bunch of damn foreigners:-)

Don\'t be vague and say the approval time takes too long, be specific
and mention areas that can be improved upon.

My experience is: DON\'T RELY ON YOUR ATTORNEY FOR NEARLY EVERYTHING!

Just do as Jesus said, "shrewd like a snake, but mild like a dove (to your attorney)." BTW, I\'m not a Christian but I have read through the Bible for 3 times.

For instance, don\'t wait for the I-485 package from them. Do the immigration medical exam yourself. You can order for free the medical exam form (I-693) from INS web site.

Track the process yourself, don\'t believe what your attorney says about the processing time ("well, sir, it takes 6 months to get the approval after FP-doing (what?), we\'ll keep you updated anyway (really?)").

Don\'t delay your iEAD application just because they say your EAD is coming soon.

Take them as guilty until proven innocent :-)

You know why we got tons of "gurus" here? Just because immigration lawyers are all nuts :-) We have to take care of ourselves.

I agree with what Henry says.
I would have never learnt about iEAD cards,
doing FP ahead of schedule at different
ASC and a whole lot of other things if it
wasn\'t for you guys.

Once I write my letter, I\'ll post a copy
of it here.
