After winning the green card

I heard that a green card winner MUST immigrate to USA 6 months or less after winning the green card or else he will lose his green card. is that right?

To make it clear: After successful interview in the U.S Embassy/Consulate, you will receive an immigrant visa that must be activated within 6 months by entering the U.S. Once you arrived in the U.S, your green card will be mailed to your address in the U.S within 2-3 weeks. If you do not enter the U.S within 6 months after you receiving the visa, you'll loose the visa and the green card.

After i activate the immigrant visa in the US can i then come back to my country to sort some things out and then go back to US after 2 months?

yes, no problem.

I think you can leave 1 year the USA without having problems. But many people here say that it would be better don't leave the USA less than 6 month if you don't have a house or something there.

Then I think since you got the GC you have a year to sort out your things. BUT, you have to activate the greencard within the first six month.
