ok so the good ole' Pres. says he's opposed to amnesty, and also that illegal immigrants should not have a straight and easy path to citizenship. he also said that they need to get at the back of the line behind those who are here legally.

however, if they get in line, lets say in a couple of years from now, doesn't that mean the legal immigrants who are applying (in the future) will be held up??!!!

they should create a separate quota or a separate line for them....having 12million immigrants join the line set for legal immigrants is really going to delay things!!!

No, in my opinion, if they go back in line, it's fine...back in line after the last legal immigration application at the time of President signing the law.

If they will have a special quota...that means they will have a special treatment...and the illegals deserve anything but a special treatment.

And also they should pay a fine for being illegal in this country and back taxes with the same penalties and interest, exactly the way, we legal immigrants and American citizens are charged by or friends from IRS if we are just a few days late with the Income tax payments
;)

Oh, but they will pay a fine. The proposal states that it's a $1000 for the application I-485, then another $1000 in fines, plus the taxes for 3 years (the amnesty will be granted only to those who came before 2004). Honestly, I don't think that a lot of illegals will meet this criteria — after all, it's a crazy amount for those who are getting paid minimum wage under the table.
